Meet John - The First "Gives Back" Success!

John was nominated by his wife and his neighbors to receive a residential flagpole kit from our Service First Gives Back program.
John is an AWESOME American Patriot if you ask us! He is currently serving in the Utah National Guard as a Field Artillery Officer and is also in Law Enforcement.
Throughout John’s service he has received numerous awards and recognitions, to include being the Utah National Guard’s Soldier of the Year while he was enlisted!
So, John was a great candidate to receive a flagpole kit from us! We loaded up the truck with a flagpole kit, some accessories, and then headed to Lowes for some Quickrete. After that we made the trip to John’s Home near central Utah.
When we pulled up to his home we were STUNNED! The whole neighborhood came out to see the flagpole! What a cool show of support.
While the Service First Team and myself got to work on the install, John’s family and friends were hard at work preparing a camp-style lunch for us in a dutch oven! It was totally unexpected but we were very thankful and it was delicious! Talk about hospitality and a showing of kindness and service! The lunch break also provided time for the fast-setting quikrete to take hold.
After lunch, we erected the flagpole and attached the additional accessories! It was so BEAUTIFUL!
John, thanks for having us out, feeding us, and for your service!
